Sudden stringing on an old Gcode
I have been printing on the same MK3S+ for three years at my workplace, the room has humidity and temperature control, and filaments are always stired in a plastic drybox with moisture absorbents or plastic bags. I started having a sudden stringing issue a few months ago, occurring on old G codes I have used for 2-3 years without any problems. I can't just use a heat gun because the prints are small and delicate, and the heating warps them.
I have the same problem with 2 different colours of PLA and one PETG and with different 0.4 and 0.25 nozzles. Changing the temperature and retraction helps slightly, but 1) it's not enough 2) these g codes have worked perfectly before with the same settings. Most tips I saw cover retraction and humidity, but I am not sure that's the source of the problem. I have not tried a fresh roll of filament yet, but I am planning to.
My printer sometimes has issues with unloading - the end of the filament becomes too wide and gets stuck in the extruder, so I manually unscrew this part and cut the end. I saw one person mentioning that they suspected the extruder gears caused stringing, but I can't piece together how I could fix it.
It's been another bad year for moisture problems, no matter how careful you have been it's worth drying the filament before messing with any settings.
Cheerio,

I have had exactly the same problem over the last couple of weeks. New filament. Old filament. Different brands. Same problem. Photo attached. I'd really like to know what to do. I've literally never had a problem with the printer since I bought it.
