Stringing Vase Mode
Hello I have some problems with the models I print in vase mode.
I get a lot of stringing on the inside of the model and less on the outside. Also there are some bumbs on the surface some times. Could it be the idler screw that it is a little bit more screwed and not flushed with the plastic part? I recently changed the PTFE tube and the nozzle.

Stringing in vase mode? That's interesting, can you please post a picture and the zipped project file from slicer?
Bumps on the surface when printing in vase mode may be caused by too many moves on arcs for the printer to process... Let's see the project file.

RE: Stringing Vase Mode
I’m with @robin - stringing in vase mode is unusual (in my experience anyway).
If you’re running Octoprint, you can easily process your print file with ArcWelder which will reduce the number of arc moves required, which might have a positive effect, per robin’s comment above. I think there may also be a post-processing script that doesn’t require Octoprint but I’ve never tried it.
I don’t use vase mode very often so I can’t recall if I’ve run a print of this type through ArcWelder or not, but there’s no reason I can think of that it wouldn’t work. Worth a try.
Bumps in the surface could also be caused by damp filament.
Cheers
RE: Stringing Vase Mode
So I have an update.
I printed in regular mode a planter with four corners. As you can see in the photos the back left corner has some serious issues and I get a lot of stringing inside and outside of the model.
Could it be a problem with the PTFE tube I changed?

That sounds very likely. Did you get the right PTFE (length, diameter, chamfer)? Did you install it correctly (right orientation, all the way down, held by the collet)?
If you still have the old one: compare the two. Why did you change it in the first place?
Generally: If your printer works fine, then you change/replace something and all of a sudden you encounter problems you never had before: the thing you changed/replaced should be the first thing to be investigated as a cause...

RE: Stringing Vase Mode
Yes it was the correct way.
I changed it because prusa suggested so as I had some inconsistent gaps in my first layer. The collet if I remember correctly should be up which I did. I will see if it still in that position.
RE: Stringing Vase Mode
So I got this thing out of the hotend. I suppose it is the part that i broke. So if think this correctly the collet wasn't locking because of that broken part but I found some collet prints that I printed and I could place in the gap as shown on the pictures.
RE: Stringing Vase Mode
Is there a piece of the collet missing? It’s not clear from your photos but if you got a broken piece of the collet or anything else out of the hotend that has to be a good thing!

RE: Stringing Vase Mode
Well good and bad I suppose. The thing is that if it is fixable the way I did it or not and needs replacement. I'll contact support later today.
RE: Stringing Vase Mode
Fair point.
If the PTFE tube was shifting because the collet didn’t have it locked in place, that would surely cause print errors.
Probably a good idea to source a spare collet, just in case…

RE: Stringing Vase Mode
The ptfe tube is secure now. I tried to move it up and down and it doesn't move at all. I'll check again of course.
