Strange wobbly lines spaced apart perfectly. Why?
Hello-
MK3S. Built the printer last weekend. All went smooth. Setup tests and calibration perfect. Have about 48 hours print time with no issues. Tried to print a thin walled piece and this happens. One side is great. Other side has evenly spaced horizontal issues on the internal and external surfaces. Printed one of the files that came on the SD card after this with no issues. I’m confused
— I’ve printed this design multiple times on either one of my other 7 (non Prusa) printers with no issues so I don’t think it’s a slicing issue? Using Simplify 3D.
— Could it be the filament holder on top catching at certain spots? Not so sure as the spacing is so perfect?
— Could it still be a slicing issue? I used Prusa’s Simplify 3D profile to slice.
— Extruder issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Greg

Looks like a slice issue to me; I have never seen infill like what your part has, and honestly think the extrusion settings to get that much filament out of a V6 will press the volumetric limits. It almost looks like you are filling the part with an extruder pen.
It doesn't explain the messy perimeters at some but not all layers, though we can't see the internal structure or infill detail.
Have you tried slicing with Slic3r PE?

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I doubt it’s an extruder issue as all other prints I’ve done since come out fine. Going to take your advice and slice with Sli3er PE just to see if it comes out with no issues. Will let you know because if it does it’s very strange. Thanks!

Make sure you enable the "Detect thin walls" option in Slic3r for this model.

So finally got around to slicing this object in Slic3r PE. Worked perfect. No issues at all. Definitely a Simplify 3D problem. Going to do some further tweaking in Simplify to see if I can get it to work. Thanks
