Sphere not spherical
  • Hello all

I use a MK3S since 2 months and i am happy with. Today i tried to print a PETG pièce with 2 sphères at the extremities and its no good, the wrong side its the first to print. I used support.

Do you have an idea of the problem ?

Spheres are difficult to print, even with supports  you could try playing with the support settings...
does it have to be a sphere, hexagons print well, perhaps you could print a hexagon and sand spherical ?

or split the item in two, print flat side down and join together with ....   aaaahhhhh... you said PETG... not many glues hold on PETG... 🙁
that works with PLA and ABS...

I don't know if it is available everywhere but I use Gorilla Super Glue Gel on PETG with good success.  I prefer the gel as it is a bit thicker and is easier for me to control.  Depending on the surface area being glued (bigger is better), the joint is at least as strong as the plastic.

If you do decide to do this as two pieces to glue up, add some index nubs and holes so that when you squeeze the parts together they stayed lined up.

Hi

I am currently facing the same problem printing spherical objects. Am wondering what you mean by 8 perimeter and 2 perimeter.

Is it possible to attach a picture of the setting ? Sorry i'm really new to 3d printing and slicing.

Thanks
