Seam Lines

Hello,
To start please stay with my thought process hear, my mk3 issue sparked a more general 3D printing idea as apposed to just an mk3 idea (why this thread is in general discussion) So with full disclosure here I am by no means a 3D printing expert. But I have owned a few different printers by various company's. I recently received my MK3 and watching it print I'm noticing it leaves very noticeable seam lines on squares or circles. But all printers do that to some extent or the other. It starts at a point prints that layer and then goes back to that point and runs over it and in some cases stops and backs up, then the Z axis going up to the next layer and starting and stoping on the same point on the print. Leaving a very obvious seam line. So it has me thinking why does a 3d printer have to start from a specific point on every layer? Why can't as it goes up in layers just spiral up in layers. So if you were printing a hollow sphere for example it never ends a layer and begins another. It would just spiral up in layers to the top. Obviously it would be a very slight spiral and hardly seen, but it would eliminate seam lines correct? I know with more complex geometry parts it would be harder to do, but would there be a way to write this in the code to slice parts where layers don't end and theres never a seam line? Like i said i'm no expert but just an idea i have in my head. Anyone see faults in this ideology? Maybe someone from Prusa could comment
