Rough surface on first layer

Hi,

I have been printing on a Mk3S+ for a year without any tweaking or replacing parts, and with the same PLA brand.

Now I start seeing irregularities on the surface (the first layer). Before I start randomly tweaking all kinds of parameters I would like to know if anyone could point me in the right direction.

3mf file in zip: front printed

Thanks!

Are you still on your first nozzle?  It will have worn down - try recalibrating the first layer 'Z' offset; if you can't get a decent result it's time for a new one.

Thanks for your reply!

I see that I have printed 270 hours with my first nozzle, only PLA and an occasional TPU. Would it be reasonable to expect the nozzle has worn out? I will try the recalibration steps first before stepping into the nozzle replacement adventure. Thanks again,

-Emile.

So very light use - it should still have at least a couple of thousand hours in it (unless you are printing abrasive filaments) - but it might have worn enough to require recalibrating the first layer 'Z' offset.
