Prusament "Oh My Gold!" expanding as it leaves nozzle.
Hi! I have a brand new roll of gold colored prusament PLA that seem to expand as it leaves the nozzle. It prints okay and its surface looks fine apart from seams being very obvious blobs with the default prusament profiles in slicer... Is this normal? Is my brand new filament full of moisture or is this just the way this particular filament acts?
I guess using wipe on retract and enabling retract on layer change could mitigate this?

Its only a problem with this filament, and it was like this from the first print...

As you can see here the filament expands in width after leaving the nozzle compared to other filaments...

Not used that filament but thats normal for the 'silk' type filaments which I have used lots of. It doesnt seem to be a problem when actually printing though.

This. I love silk filaments but they come out of the nozzle like fat sausages. Doesn’t appear to interfere with normal printing operations though.

Yes, I've also noticed that the metallics do expand as they extrude, but if you look very closely, they do not expand immediately below the nozzle and will lay down more or less as expected. The metallics are great for some novelty items and some steampunk-ish effects.

Especially if it is not dry!

That looks superb, I saw some metallic filaments on Amazon UK, 3 x 0.5kg rolls for £32
Not sure what they are like, but they go on offer every so often.
What brand of filament did you use for that print?
Tank you very much!

I have eSun silk in four or five different colors, they’re awesome. Their gold in particular.
