Printing with Prusa ABS-T
Hi,
I've been trying to use ABS-T from the Prusa shop and the resulting prints look molten-like and are in poor quality - as if the filament temperature is too high.
PLA prints work fine.
Can anybody share their working Slic3rPE settings for this filament and perhaps some tips?
Additional information:
- I tried several temperatures but the results are mostly the same.
- Activating the fan helps but then first layer becomes problematic and unreliable. But even then the results are as good as PLA.
- I have a new MK3 printer (kit) with the powder coated sheet (I had a MK2 before so I do have some experience)
- Bed is at 100 deg (also tried 110)
- I used the standard Prusa ABS profile in Slic3rPE.
- I've tried two different ABS-T filaments (Black and white).
- The printer is in an enclosure
- I printed a temp. tower which looked bad from 255 to 235 (and then there was a crash due to the warping) .
Thanks,
Shay

I found that increasing infill will reduce warping and shrinking.

RE: Printing with Prusa ABS-T
Hi,
I've been trying to use ABS-T from the Prusa shop and the resulting prints look molten-like and are in poor quality -
This probably won't help except as a data point - I've found some of the non-Prusament Prusa branded filaments have an awful lot of pigment and filler to make them opaque. I like that matte look. But some, I feel, have had too much pigment and they print poorly as a result. And unfortunately, I've also not found settings that help. The parts just look like they were printed 50c over spec with a clogged extruder; they look almost gritty, too.
Good luck.
