Printing PET-G octofiber with i3 MK3S
Hi,
I'm having some trouble when trying to print a part arround 3x6x2cm using octofiber PET-G with my new i3 MK3S : if I set the octofiber recommandations (nozzle at 225° and bed at 55°) there is no adhesion at all on the bed (textured). After 10-20 printed layers the entire part just goes away...
If I use standard recommendations (nozzle 225°, but bed at 90°) then the printed part is too soft, not far from melting...
Does someone has a good temperature recommendation for octofiber printing with i3 MK3S ?
Thank you in advance,
Z

55 is much too cool for PETg. 80c to 90c is better, and normal. As for part strength, you only test that after a part is complete and cooled.

Hi, thankyou, i'll try 80°, but 90° clearly seems too hot for octofiber PET-G...

Looking at the spec sheet, the glass point is 70c. I wouldn't exceed that for the bed unless parts are lifting, then push to 80c. All of the specs begs the question why would you use it over PLA? Perhaps a little more water resistant, and a bit stronger... but that's about it. No more temp resistance whatsoever. Did I mention it is really expensive?

@tim-m30
thankyou, I'm just finishing my octofiber filament but you're right, i'll not take it next time.
I'm also using verbatim PET-G, this one is really good !
