If you choose to use a solvent, then cleaning PEI COLD, allows the solvent to dissolve some contamination and share it with the wiping medium, on a hot bed the solvent evaporates before it can do any good!
I tend to use Dish Soap and water as ht as I can stand, scrubbing with a new clean kitchen sponge, and flushing the surface clean with Clean hot water, then dry with a clean paper towel, immediately.

I have never tried IPA cleaning cold. I do use dawn cold. I will have to try IPA cold.

4" grinder works best: 40 grit wheel. One or two passes and PLA sticks really really well now.
