Outer surface distorsion

On this particular part I'm getting this very rough surface only on this lower outer curved portion, where some of it looks melted, some of it looks over extruded, and some of it looks like the layers just aren't combining properly,  and I can't figure out why. I've tried adjusting the nozzle temp, bed temp, speed, extrusion width, layer height, inner/outer perimeter order, overhang settings, print orientation, more time drying filament, printing on different machines. It seems like it should be a cooling issue, but it only effects this one area of the print.

I have a similar issue. In fact the trouble starts when attempting to bridge the infill – I get lots of stray filament.

RE: Outer surface distortion

So it turns out I was on the right path thinking it was a cooling issue. The worst print (shown in the original post) was done with a HighV(O.unicy) fan shroud, which looks fancy but does absolutely nothing to improve cooling.

I have been switching out my fan shrouds to the Prusa Mk3S/+ Improved Fan Shroud (Technoid) and getting much better results when adjusting cooling settings.

While this did greatly reduce the distortion with my model I found the only way to eliminate it was to print at least two at a time.
