Distilled water.

The rationale I've seen used by folks on here is that the best for antiseptic purposes is like 70'ish.  But I was lazy and didn't want to go out to the pharmacy to look and see if they carried the high test stuff 🙂

My understanding is that a bit of distilled water slows the evaporation of alcohol, making it more effective at breaking down bacteria. I was wondering why the "good stuff" was harder to find at CVS and now it makes sense. 71% is better against the bugs.

Great tip.  I found this somewhere else and it works.

thx guys!

Ok, SwissCheese. I'll try these Z-Settings. Already getting satisfying results with Z -1,280mm.

Yep, Fuchsr. PINDA Probe is checked!

I bought my 99,9% IPA from Amazon, too. But I am not really convinced. I will try it again on the textured steel sheet I ordered.

I'll stick to the dishasher detergent way of cleaning it like u told me for the smooth print bed!

I guess there are still some quality improvements to be made.

Best regards

Sandro

If your settings are working good for you, then you should stick with them, my recommendation was made from an image you posted.

Just keep my recommendation in reserve in case you notice something isn't working out right with your Z.

That looks like your belt tension is slightly adrift. Make your next print this:

https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/46639-tension-meter-for-the-gt2-belts-of-i3-mk3s-or-prus

It MUST be printed in Prusament PETG or the spring tension will be wrong.

Tool

Nice little tool.  I have not tried that one.  Belt tension is important.

RE: Thx again u awesome people!

Hey Peepz!

I was totally lost in an other project. So happy to be able to print again! I am building a vertical pencil plotter at the moment :

Could I print in any PETG or does it need to be PETG produced by Prusa?
I have a spool of PETG filament at home (GEETECH).

Haven't printed with PETG yet.

This file is a finished GCODE... I'd prefer a STL file.

I printed with 2 perimeters, BUT I reversed the print order:

Print Settings -> Layers and perimeters -> (Advanced) External perimeters first.

I did that during my trouble shooting fixing the first layer back then...

if you're talking about

The belt tension tool, it does make a difference if you print it in Prusament PETG from what I understand.  Other brands won't necessarily have the same properties as the prusament petg.   it's a pretty easy print,  it's a small contact area so you'll definitely want some glue/layerneer/magigoo  on the plate to hold it in place.  Also if you've not printed with petg before I'd recommend setting up steel sheet profiles as in my experience the zOffset for the same sheet is different between PLA, PETG, etc.  PETG tends to be further away from the sheet(less negative).

Here's how to set up steel sheet profiles

https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/steel-sheet-profiles_1955/

Just remember to select the correct profile before each print.  This is PARTICULARLY important if you switch between textured/satin sheet and the smooth sheet.  Trust me you don't want to make that mistake.

once set up the printer remembers the zOffset for the particular selected sheet if you make changes so that's all you really need to do.
