MK3S Failing Large Prints
After 4 or 5 years of service my MK3S is misbehaving on large prints. Picture 1 is the first layer, not perfect but this more or less what I'm used to, and I've never had an issue. Small prints (under a couple of inches) are not a problem. Picture 2 and 3 (print is 2.5"x3.5") is printed from gcode on my sd card. I printed this last year and it worked well, but now the print is showing problems I didn't have before. The last print is new gcode from a model I made last year. Again, that print worked out well but now it's a mess.
I have played around with the first layer cal but nothing I do seems to work. I've also recalibrated the XYZ and run all the self tests. Everything looks normal but any print on the large side fails miserably. Any ideas?
Probably a build-up of printing residues that are beating your regular cleaning routine.
Try a drastic sheet-clean. Rub neat dishwashing detergent (Dawn,/Fairy) into the surface, leave it for a few minutes and then rinse it clean with HOT water. Pat dry with a fresh paper towel; handle by the edges only and finish drying by replacing on the heated bed and warming it for a while.
Cheerio,

That worked! It actually took a few cycles to get it completely clean but it's printing like a champ.
Thanks!
