MK3 Print quality new build help
Hey all,
Would like some advise on print quality. I have run through all calibrations, including https://mattshub.com/2017/04/19/extruder-calibration/ and https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting-f62/life-adjust-z-my-way-t2981.html (bed temp at 60C).
-1.475 sticks, but -1.450 hasn’t.
I don’t know if the quality I am getting is the best I can get. I get the feeling the z adjust is not correct but not sure how to proceed.
Did this print, you will notice the print lines in the top. I was hoping for a smoother print. Is the z calibration too low or high?
Model: Prusa i3 MK3
Settings:
Live Z: -1.475
Nozzle: 215C
Bed: 60C
Speed: 80%
Thanks in advance.
Re: MK3 Print quality new build help
From the looks that I can see you need to lower your Z, use your first layer calibration setting it is under settings if i remember correctly. Advance your z by 50 each each print, when you are close try 20, if your little print block at the bottom starts to feel rough back your off a little. It could take 6 runs to get it just right and get a smooth squish. wright down your final number and if you need to adjust your live z setting.
GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY PRINTING

Re: MK3 Print quality new build help
I agree it looks like Z is still too high. I've found that lowering it gradually first starts getting it to "stick", but you have to go past that point until it flattens a little into the sheet.
Looking at your bottom fill going diagonally, you're getting tiny little unfilled triangles where the fill reverses as it meets the perimeter. If it was me, I'd go just a little bit lower in Z until those triangles start to close up.
