Material for making a rolling pin ?

My wife asked me to make her a rolling pin, what material will you guys suggest ?

Some came cross my mind: nylon, polycarbon

None, unless you plan to print a new one every time she needs to use it. Whatever she is rolling out will get caught in the microscopic pores and is a great place for bacteria to breed.

Thank you for the warning.

But I suppose rolling pin is a bit different from food containers.

We don't eat dough raw, do we ?

I think the baking process (200C +) can kill all germs 😉

To summarize it if you don't want to read it: PLA coated with food grade epoxy which would seem to make sense. There are some interesting comments on the article as well. I don't think there's any substitute for a nice tapered wood pin, but to each his own.
