Lithophane keeps skipping layers

Trying to print a lithophane printed two fine and now it keeps skipping layers.  I know when it is about to crap out as I start to hear the extruder gears clicking.  It might be two hours or six hours into the print.  I read you should import/export to meshmixer.  Ok, what do you do with it in there?  I have never used meshmixer.

Please Help

What are you printing? Filament?

Temperature in the room?

Temperature extruder?

Other settings.

Search forum for heat creep or heatcreep.

I’d try turning off retraction for those.

Update:

Here is another attempt

I started the print and left came home an hour or so later and this is what I found

Printing using Prussament PLA

215/60 Slicer 2.2

I should mention that the two failed prints from the earlier post was I was sitting in the room as they were printing and I heard the bondtech gear start clicking and I knew the print was about to fail.  Until that time everything is working fine and then I hear the clicking and it is as if the print is starting to "bridge" for about 10-15 layers and then resume printing normal again.

I had three other failed prints and that is what they looked like but those got thrown away in disgust.

The reason being is the first one worked perfect and the second one did what I am describing, so I imported/exported to meshmixer and then the second one turned out fine.

But ever since failures.  I have tried repairing with netfabb, and meshmixer, even slicer repair stl from the file menu.  Tried slowing the printer down to 55%, 50%, 40% and the same thing everytime.

I as type now am on another attempt.  Thirty minutes into it and everything is fine.  The machine sounds normal, print looks good.

Fingers crossed.

I have an MK3S with MMU2s

Thanks for the replies

RE: Lithophane keeps skipping layers

Search forum for : nozzle clog , more users have this problem.

Check spring which is holding the filament, see manual, if OK, do more tension on it and test.

Print 10 C hotter, and 15 Hotter, and see filament maximum, you can go 10 hotter then filament maximum, to see if it works.

Check if extruder gear is clean, and look if gear is not loose or sitting crooked/wrong.
