Layer shifting problem
I'm having a problem with a specific set of prints where the layers are shifting near the end of the print. The attached file shows the issue near the top of the wall section. The wall is oriented as it is printed - as it sits on the build plate. Note the slight "joggle" in the edge of the wall about in line with the sill the projects from the window opening.
I'm using a 6 mm brim, 10% infill, 70 degree bed temp and 215 degree nozzle temp. The filament is Hatchbox matte Terra Cotta. The wall is oriented on the y axis for printing.
I say I'm having this issue with this specific set of prints since I've printed another wall with a different geometry and had no problems. However, I have 4 walls that are very similar, this being one of them. I've printed this one and one other and both shifted at exactly the same point.
Does anyone have some thoughts as to how I might prevent this from happening? Perhaps increasing infill or printing right side up instead of upside down (though that would consume much more filament for supports)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

please attach 3mf file and if you print something else this does not happen right

RE: Layer shifting problem
and try flip the print so the bit thats shifting is on bed and the bit on bed is in the air

RE: Layer shifting problem
That looks like the usual symptom of a loose motor pulley. Check the grub screws are tight and aligned to the flat on the shafts. It’s common for them to loosen over time if they aren’t done correctly. Either that or belt tension.

If this was the case, wouldn't I see this problem on every print? As I mentioned, It's only happening on this one type of wall (4 instances). I will check though.
Thanks

OK, let's see if this works...
Note that it's not the same wall, but of the same family that's having problems.

Yes, I'm using the Paint on supports and the Smart fill tool to place supports on the window sills. The 3mf file should show that. Does the STL file come with it? if not I can send that too.
FWIW, I've inverted one of the walls and it's about 4.5 hours into the 6 hour print - past where it shifted in the photo and so far there are no problems. It hasn't reached the top of the window opening yet, so the jury is still out, but it looks promising.
I'll report on it's completion to tomorrow.
Also, I did check the grub screws and they are tight.

RE: Layer shifting problem
Here's a shot of the print from last night. The edge at the bottom of the photo was on the build plate.
Note this time the "joggle" is at the top of the wall. After studying this I'm noting that it's actually expanding at the top of the windows as you can see it spreading out a bit at both edges above the windows. It's not as bad as before, but it's not great.
All I did was invert the wall and reapply supports to the overhanging edges (the underside of the header beam and the top edges of the windows). No other changes were made to the slicer file.
Thoughts?

RE: Layer shifting problem
Still not the best ant chance you can print a small cube to make sure it's not the printer thanks

Yes, I certainly can, but I'm pretty sure it's not. As I believe I've said previously, I've been printing other walls and other objects interspersed with these and they haven't experienced any problems.
FWIW, I'm currently printing another copy of the wall where I've increased the infill to 25% to see if that makes a difference. It's got about 1.5 hours left to finish.
How big a block are you thinking?

RE: Layer shifting problem
20 m. By 20 mm I know you said it doesn't do it on other walls but I would still like to rule this out thanks fingers crossed for this wall

OK, I'll do the block when the wall is finished.
