just curious about gap in testcube
Hi,
this is not a real world problem.
I printed es test cube to run some tests on extrusion factors.
I'm just curious why this gap happens at the inner ring, the 6th in my example?
I do not see anything like this on the PrusaSlicer screen.
Any ideas?
regards
Alois

Good morning Alois,
Prusa slicer tries to hide the Z seam, in the corners of models to make them less intrusive.
this looks like it may be the source of your issue.
I reset the seam position to Random, in slicer and the model ended up with the seams distributed all over the surface od the print, which would probably not be satisfactory for you either...
However, something I have never noticed before.
in this model on every layer I looked at, all six perimeters had the seam position in a row perpendicular to the direction of the perimeters...
I expect you need to look at your retraction settings.

RE: just curious about gap in testcube
Hi Joan,
your hints were very helpful!
First, I did not recognize the seams at the cube corner on the Prusaslicer screen.
Second, the retraction settings are the key factors. I made some test prints and found retraction length = 0.2 mm to fit best, instead of default 0.8 mm. Also random seams made much smaller gaps.
retract length = 0.8mm
retract length = 0.2mm
