Wow! those came out good.  They are scaled down 29% of actual size, right?  What settings and printer config did you use to get such good results?

This was unexpected.  Some of the mullions printed, but others did not.  Obviously right on the edge of what the slicer (in this case Cura) thinks the machine will print.  The rest of the print is square and solid, similar to that done on the I3.  I did not try it, but I have a feeling that if I sliced it on Cura for the I3 instead of the S5, the resulting print would be similar.  The photo below is the print on the glass plate, before I removed it.

In any case, if I were doing this in the scale that you want, I would definitely increase the width of the mullions just to the point that the slicer prints them with two strokes instead of one or zero.  I have a feeling that something in the range of .6 to .7mm would do that.  I used .8 for the test print earlier in this thread.

I don't know if you plan on including a pane using so-called transparent filament or not but if you're not, I would suggest increasing the thickness of the pieces a bit.  The smaller ones are paper thin.  I measured one piece at about 15 thousandths (dial caliper, I did not run downstairs and get out the digital) which comes out to around .4mm, which, in my experience, is not going to hold shape very well.  I've found that 2mm works well for holding shape for small detail parts.

As an aside, if you're in the Wyoming area, I assume you attend the big train show in Denver in March, correct?  I'm a TCA (and LCCA) member and a regular there, and it was at that show a number of years back that I saw my first in-action 3d printer.  I immediately realized that it was the tool for the job of the buildings and such I wanted, but could not find commercially made.  I have a number of prints in the 'Awesome Prints Hall Of Fame' section here, everything from flats to stand-alone buildings to some cars and accessories.  One of the latest ones which has turned into quite the conversation piece is a working smoking-flaming dumpster.  😉  I have not even installed it on the table, I've just demonstrated it using a bench supply.  It actually looks quite realistic (photo below) and it's not as cliche' as the burning switch tower.  😉

That dumpster is pretty cool.  I actually live in the sticks east of Colorado Springs, but have never made it up to the Denver train show you speak of.  I assume it didn't happen this year due to COVID?  I'll have to watch for the announcement in the future.

Thanks for the further work on the parts.  I'll have to do some more research and figure out how I want to proceed.

I printed this two different ways, the first (shown in the images above) was by using the XY Compensation in Prusa slicer and changing the External perimeters to 0.43mm, this allowed the slicer to see and print the very fine detail of the mullions as I mentioned 14 posts ago.

That said, I wasn't happy with that result however good it might have looked, because it was increasing the scale by 0.11mm in the X and Y directions, while that could easily be compensated for with a piece of 600 grit sandpaper I decided to take the model into "My 3D program of choice" and increase the size of the mullions there so that no XY Compensation would be needed in the slicer, their by preserving the scale you desired. I've included a .3MF file with all the settings I used it's basically just a modified version of the one you posted originally. all the prints I did were scaled 29% of actual size, same as your .3MF

Thanks, I'll give it a try.  It will be a few days as I have one more wall to print - an 8 hour job in a different color.  After that's done, I'll give it a spin.

The Denver show is usually the first weekend in March, but yeah, it was scrubbed this year.  It's at the Denver Mart and they claim it's the largest one west of the Rockies and the second largest in the US, second to the York (PA) meet, at which I am also a regular.  Last year it squeaked in just before the big Covid lockdown.  There was a sign saying that it was a 'No Handshake Event' and there were a few, but not many masks.

The highlight of the show last year was a great presentation from the guys who rebuilt the Big Boy for the UP and took it out on its maiden run.  I actually met the guy who I photographed piloting the beast as it screamed by me approaching Omaha.  They had some great slides of the actual rebuild of the boiler and the working pieces.

I think if it's in Denver, it's east of the Rockies...  😉

In 2019, my Dad and I chased the 4014 and the 844 (well, sort of) out to Ogden for the Golden Spike event and the joint UPHS/SPH&TS convention.  We got in to town a day early and drove back out to a couple of spots along the line on the day of its arrival to get video and photos.  The crowds following it were just ridiculous, but we were able to find a couple of spots that worked out pretty well.

I'll have to watch for the show announcement next year.

I sliced and ran both files today and, aside from the printer complaining that the gcode was generated for a different printer (MK3 vs MK3s), they came out perfect.  So, I think the answer is that I either need to experiment with the finer nozzle for the windows and freight doors or I need to massage the models to work with the 0.4 mm nozzle.  These prints came out looking good enough that I'm leaning toward fiddling with the models.

Ok, (DUH!) make that west of the Mississippi.  😉

I and a few others chased it in 2019 and we avoided the crowds by picking smaller towns that had good close views of the tracks.  We avoided the publicized stops and used the time to move down the line.

You can just change that in the slicer Bill, I have both machines but was using the MK3. I'm glad the models worked for you, I was happy to help.

I think it would be a good plan to learn how to fiddle with the models, and learn about using different nozzles,  but learn how to manipulate the models first I think you'll see the most benefit from that, and it can be a fun hobby.

Here she is in Limon, CO on 24 Nov, 2019 on her way back from touring the eastern US.  It was hard here to get a good shot because of the close quarters.
