Is this possible to slice (Its my first time and I have no idea what im doing)
Hello i've been trying to figure out how to slice this to get the original stl outcome but it gets completely destroyed in slicing. So I decided to ask here is this even possible or is this to ambitious. Please help
This is just an archive file and you can unzip it and the an stl file since it doesn't let me put it in just as an stl file for some reason

Yes, your file contains many errors.
But if you activate "Detect thin walls" (Advanced mode) then you can print your model.

It downloads as a .7z. I change the extension to .zip and tried to unzip. It isn't a zip file. Sorry dude.
RE: Is this possible to slice (Its my first time and I have no idea what im doing)
@dan-rogersI zipped it with 7 zip because it wont let me add the raw stl I think im stupid or something
if you want to you can download 7 zip and try then unziping it but I will try printing this tomorrow out of interest of what will happen because in the slice it looks really weird
RE: Is this possible to slice (Its my first time and I have no idea what im doing)
OK I downloaded and used 7 zip to unzip it to get the stl file.
On loading the stl into prusa slicer it reports there are 81646 errors fixed. I think that's a record, I have never seen that many before.
I also looked at the stl in Blender. Blenders 3d print tool reports 88661 non Manifold edges (these really really kill a slicer as a model has to be manifold to print), 466 Bad Contiguous edges, 1990 Intersecting faces, 99251 Zero faces, 4341 Zero edges, 107 non flat faces and 82861 Thin faces. Yep this wins the prize for most non 3d printable model lol. Basically you can forget printing this. I wouldn't even try it with a resin printer.
For a start most of the stl parts even without the errors are way too thin to be sliced with even a small nozzle, let alone a normal 0.4mm one. Even if it would slice its not really been designed to be 3d printed. It would require support in so many places that given how thin the walls are it would probably destroy it trying to remove the supports. Basically its an incredibly bad model.
Again, I'd love to be wrong and for someone to print it, as their skills would be next level superstar but I cant see it happening.

Ok im guessing its back to the workshop then since I made this myself and its my first time trying so yeah anyway thanks, appreciate the help

Just out of curiosity, what software did you use to create it? 81,000 errors, that's an amazing record, and I want to make sure I never go close to that software.
No, seriously, I'm actually really interested in finding out how it's possible to end up with so many errors in a model. Maybe there's some way we can help you avoid it in the future. We're all learning.

Well since I never tried to make a model ever so I used tinkercad and now I feel shame for it or I used it non properly i dont know but yeah well il try to figure out how to make a ussable model

Now that is interesting. While more of a Fusion 360 person myself I have used Tinkercad a fair bit. It's surprisingly powerful and very easy to use, and a great tool especially if you're new. I have found it to produce the occasional error, but never to the degree @neophyl noticed.
Maybe you were using one of the custom components that produced weird output. Another common source of errors is the alignment of holes and solids. I found this to be more of an issue with OpenSCAD where you need to make sure holes fully penetrate the outer perimeter of the surrounding solid but if you use the align function (L) in Tinkercad to align holes and solids, that's usually pretty good. And while I found errors in Tinkercad not to be very common, they are common enough to make me check every model I created in Tinkercad in a tool such as Netfabb to find--and fix--errors.
If you want to make that Tinkercad design public. I could take a look to see if there's anything obviously wrong. But if you enjoyed working with Tinkercad, I wouldn't give up on it. Looks like you just got particularly unlucky with that particular design.

I was trying to make a wreath since coudnt find any models online so yeah something with flowers not holidays or something so tried making it myself I foudn tupid and roses online so this thing is like really getto, glued together so yeah that my be the case why its unprintable.

heres the link but yeah Im not sure what can you do with this
RE: Is this possible to slice (Its my first time and I have no idea what im doing)
This is just something I wanted to print at school so yeah, I might look into how to make this thing actually printable
RE: Is this possible to slice (Its my first time and I have no idea what im doing)
@rh_dreambox
I will try to print it though im not sure what will happen with the thin walls
RE: Is this possible to slice (Its my first time and I have no idea what im doing)
I took a look at the Tinkercad design. Good news, I don't think YOU did anything wrong. Bad news, whoever designed the roses you appear to have imported into your project, did a lousy job. Each one has about 8,000 errors, so no wonder that you ended up with 80,000 in your model.
I ran the whole thing though Netfabb to fix the errors. Here it is, in case you want to give it a try. Having said that, my prediction is, this will end up looking horrible. The sideways-oriented roses will give you all sorts of grief without supports, and adding supports into the overlapping leaves will be a nightmare to remove and leave scarred surfaces.
