Gaps between infill and perimeter (first layer)
Hi all,
I have a problem with gaps between the infill and perimeter. Mostly in my first layer.
I have fixed this issue with a increased value for the infill/perimeter overlap from 25% --> 40%.
I think this value is a bit too much, and I am searching for another solution (if there is one for this issue)
Speed of the first layer is 20 mm/s.
Overlap is 40%
Z live adjust is good. I had a 60x60 square printed, which is good for the first layer.
Best regards!

they look like Stitch points on a sewing pattern! 🙂
can you post a copy of the .3mf file for us to look at please?

Sure!

tried to follow the link, and I was taken to a cookie acceptance page, then I was taken to a registration page.
I have backed off...
If you take the .3mf file. and ZIP compress it, then you can add the zip file here

Hm that is weird.. I tried uploading the file like you said, but still it says that the file is not allowed for security reasons.. That's why I used the wetransfer link.

Aha found it. I used another zip file.

Seems to have worked for me!

Yes, at the end for me too. I used another extension which was correctly recognized 🙂 I uploaded the file

If you change your fill angle from 45 to 90 degrees, it looks like the fill will snug up to the perimeters better. You might still want to increase the overlap up from the default but perhaps you won't need as much as 40%.

Your model appears to be vertical not horizontal,
I rotated it to have one face flat on the buildplate,
the model appears to be 0.46mm thick, however you are printing at 0.2mm layer height, so you only get 2 layers (the remaining 0.06mm is not printed
you seem to be using the standard Elephants foot correction of 0.2mm this effectively makes the first layer slightly smaller.
otherwise the model looks ok.
what does the underside of the model look like?
Your logo has lots of small parts, what holds them all together in the final print?
If you were to print at 0.1mm layer height, the model would have more layers, and would come out at 0.5mm thick, because the remaining 0.06 mm thickness would be rounded up to 0.1mm
does the second layer fill the holes in?
have you tried a little extra Squish on the first layer.

RE: Gaps between infill and perimeter (first layer)
Maybe I should clarify more about the model.
This is a part of a multicolor print. This layer is indeed 2 layers high (0,28 + 0.18). Around the logo, a glasscoaster will be printed. So the coaster itself will hold the logo. The third layer will hold everything together.
The squish is OK, because I always print a one layer square. I determine the live Z by feeling and bending the first layer, start a new square and adjust the Z, so that is really OK.
I printed a test object for my dimensional accuracy yesterday, and saw that my first 3 layers were indeed smaller. My Elephants foot was changed from 0,2 --> 0,05. After a new print, it was fixed. However, I haven't tested the logo with the changed Elephants foot compensation setting. I could completely eliminate the gaps by increasing the overlap to 55%, which I find very high.
So you guess by printing the logo with my current Elephants foot setting (0,05) would solve the gaps, even if I change the overlap back to 25%?
RE: Gaps between infill and perimeter (first layer)
I would suggest that you reduce the underpart to minimum thickness, then do a test print!
