Formfutura HD Glass printing profile

Hi,

I have a Prusa MKS3+, and looking for the profile to print Formfutura HD Glass? Prusa does not have this on their slicer yet... 😪

Always go first to the manufacturer's website - where they suggest:

Nozzle size: ≥ 0.15mm

Layer height: ≥ 0.1mm

Flow rate: ± 100%

Print temp: ± 235 - 260° C

Print speed: Medium

Retraction: Yes ± 5mm

Heat bed: ± 80 - 90° C

Fan speed: 10 - 30%

This is very close to Prusa's Generic PETG setting, just nudge the print head temperature up by 5 degrees...

Don't be fooled by the name, this is very clear filament but it won't print clear-transparent unless you follow the transparent printing procedures.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. I will try it.

Have you printed with Formfutura Apollo X(ASA) on your Prusa?

No.

Although their HQ is not far from Arnhem where I may visit next year so perhaps it would be worth dropping in to see what they've got.

RE:

These settings are reasonable enough except for a retraction lenght of 5 mm.  Maybe it's meant for a Bowden setup ?,  Anyway, it seems way too high for a direct extruder.  In fact, on Prusa's standard profile, the default value with a 0.4mm nozzle is 0.8mm.  I use 0.6 mm and manufacturers like Bondtech recommend for rigid filaments  a retraction length equal to the diameter of the nozzle.

That's the limit which you may vary so Prusa's default is still in the frame.
