Fliament gets often stuck (or breaks?) when unloading
Hi, I've had MK3+ for a few years now and had not had much issues with printing. Maybe 2-3km of PLA printed.
However there is an fliament unloading issue that occurs now and then.
What works:
When the printer is cold and I select unload fliament from the menu, the printer heats up the head and tells me then to pull out fliament. This always works. I get fliament out and can push new one in without issues.
What does not work:
After printing for several hours I select unload fliament from the menu. Because head is already hot it tells me to pull out fliament. I do that but it seems the fliament breaks inside the head. When I try to push in new the head is completely stuck.
They way I found to recover is to configure head very hot and let it cook. Disable stepper motors and automatic fliament detection. Then start pressing in the new fliament slowly in with moderate force until I feel something to give and molten PLA starts sprouting from the printer tip.
Am I doing something wrong here? Should I always let the head cool down completely before trying to change the fliament?
