First Print with ABS
Just finished my first print using ABS and it turned out... yikes.
Overall the test has a kind of "melted" look. The big elephant foot at the bottom layer is obvious, as is the oddly proportioned layers. Other than where the heating/shrinkage was messed up, most of the other features look good though.
Printed with White Hatchbox ABS (recommended 210C-240C) at 230C. Bed temperature 110C. No enclosure, ambient temp is around 23C, but airflow in the area is minimal. Cooling fan came on for bridging only.
I know that the biggest piece of advice will be to put it in an enclosure to increase ambient temperature, but what else was likely contributing to the defects?
Best of regards, and thanks for the help!

Your problem is the print temperature those are the defects you see when the extruded filament is too hot/not cooling fast enough. It is best to start a new filament at the bottom of the range and work upwards till a good result is achieved. So if I was you I would start at 210°C and work upwards in 5°C increments if necessary till it is printing well without those runny defects. If it prints well at an initial temperature of 210°C instead of working upwards work downwards.

You can also turn on the nozzle fan. Works better if you're in an enclosure.
