First Print - hanging pieces
Hello Everyone,
I am new to 3D printing and did my first print from a file I found here that was shared by user. everything looks pretty good except for 2 issues I ran into. Did this Mickey ear hanger for my wife and as you can hopefully see there is a small gap inside the ears. I dont know if this is by design or if my settings are what caused it. The other issue is behind the top piece. you can see where the filament didnt bond correctly but i am not sure if that is because it is a hanging piece and needs supports or if there is something i can do to prevent this. I am including some pics for reference and can also attach the file if needed. Would prefer if that ear piece is seperate, to find a way to remove it but i am still getting used to the prusaslicer. is this what people use or is there another software that you guys prefer to use. sorry for all the questions but very excited to do more prints and learn as i go along.

The top pic shows an unsupported overhang. Turn on supports to make it print. Supports are a double edged sword, so expect some reading to get it to work right for you. But just turning on Supports Everywhere will get you started.
The second image shows under-extrusion. Pretty severe, too. Did you use one of the standard profiles or did you mix it yourself?
In Slicer, load the parts, get it ready to print, then save the Project as a .3MF. Copy the 3mf into a ZIP archive/folder, and drag the folder into the forum text box to upload it. That will allow folks to see what is actually happening in the slice.

@tim-m30
Thank you for the tips. i will give it a try, still learning so will have to learn how to turn all that on. Im sure not all of my calibration is set correctly, even when doing the initial setup i wasnt too confident that i got it right when it runs the test to print the filament at a certain height. I followed the instructions that the person who created the file said to do, i am including the link but the only setting i changed was the .2 layer and 3 wall thickness. Mickey Ears Wall Hanger
i attached the file in a zip file as requested. thanks again for all of your tips. i definitely have a lot to learn
