First layer not sticking any longeraxcept to the nozzle

Hi,

I was a happy printer using a prusa MK3S, and a a PEI textured bed. Always working great. Then one print started failing, the first layer filament was not sticking enough to the bed and  caught the noozle every time.

To I did a Z adjustment procedure, and during the procedure same thing happen.

  • I upgraded the printed firmware to the latest
  • Did a full bed calibration
  • I cleaned the Bed with Alcol
  • I put a brand new Nozzle same caracteristics (E3D 0.4mm)
  • I put back my original smooth bed and did the Z calibration again
  • I tried several PLA

Same problem, I cannot even finish a Z adjustement properly. The filament soes not stick enough to the bed, catches the nozzle and ruine the print.

I am out of ideas and open to suggestions.

Ad an example, here is the same GCode I printed properly before, then several print attempts .

I would say the Z nozzle was higher before, but now the filament does not stick enought even by pressing the filament on to the bed .

As an example, here is the same GCode I printed properly before using the same filament.

The first one worked, the next ones failed . The first one was printed "farteher" from the bed and yet was sticking better

I wonder if there is not a temperature issu with my BED, but how can I know?

Easy solution finally:

Clean 4 or 5 time the bed using alcool, a little Z tuning.

Soap and hot water works best. No alcohol needed. Dawn or Fairy dish detergent is one of the favorites people use. Most of the water should sheet off , then dry any residual drops of water with a fresh paper towel, handle by the edges, dry the textured sheet at 80c for a few minutes on the print bed following a water wash.

Clean bed a few times with dish soap. Alcohol does not clean off everything.

The adjust first layer.

Both these settings are for sticking to the bed.

If it still does not work,(normally this is not needed),

first layer slower,

First layer hotter,

Use glue stick if it still fails.
