Eiffel Tower Missing Layers
I've just completed mu MK3S+ and feeling ambitious after printing my benchy. I'm a rookie for sure but thought I'd jump right in and print an Eiffel Tower for my lovely bride. I've downloaded the .stl from this: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/572-eiffel-tower and imported it into PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 and it gives me a warnig (4 total) that states :
" Warning:
Empty layers detected, the output would not be printable.
Object name: EiffelTower_Final.stl
Print z: 112.600000
This is usually caused by negligibly small extrusions or by a faulty model. Try to repair the model or or change it orientation on the bed."
I've tried the file that it was remixed from on here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:912478 but it gives me the same warnings ( 4 total).
How do I go about fixing this?
I'm using Prusament PLA .4 mm nozzle, .2 mm layer and 15% infill.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
RE: Eiffel Tower Missing Layers
Look, all you have to do is read the comments on the Thingiverse model to know that the model sucks. I didn't bother to download it, I assume the layers/perimeters are way too thin to print properly on an FDM printer

RE: Eiffel Tower Missing Layers
Many models that you don't see an actual print image of have never been printed - students get assigned "design an eiffel tower" and all they have to do is show they can produce an eiffel like rendering in a screen shot in their design tool. If there aren't any pictures of actual prints, do assume it is a practice model and probably will be an exercise in patience and re-design to get them to print.
Now, there is one setting that _might_ make your print get past the slicer warning. That would be "detect thin walls". Also, it's advanced setting buddy "add extra perimeters if needed" might be able to "save" your model tower. But it still might be a devil to print because you are the first guinea pig to try 😉
