Difference between bed temperature for first and other layers?
Hi,
I am trying to tune Fiberlogy Nylon+CF15 filament. Actually prints come out very good, but I would like to understand the settings. So the question is: why some some filaments have temperature of the first layer lower than for other layers and for other filaments it is the opposite? Which filaments 'prefere' which rule?
Recommendations for Fiberlogy Nylon+CF15 are: Nozzle 255-270C, bed 90-110C (or 80-100C, on their page there are 2 different recommedations). I shot somewhere in the middle - Nozzle 1st layer 265, others 260. Bed first layer 90, others 85.
As you can see the frog was very happy with the settings:
These are bed temperatures from PrusaSlicer to show as an example:
Group 1 - 1st layer has same bed temperature as the other layers
Prusament PLA - 1st layer 60C, other layers 60C
Fillamentum Nylon FX256 - 1st layer 90C, other layers 90C
Group 2 - 1st layer has HIGHER bed temperature than the other layers
Fiberthree F3 PA - 1st layer 75, other layers 70
Group 3 - 1st layer has LOWER bed temperature than the other layers
Prusament PETG - 1st layer 85C, other layers 90C
Prusament ASA - 1st layer 105C, other layers 110C
Prusament PC Blend - 1st layer 110C, other layers 115C
Taulman Bridge - 1st layer 60C, other layers 90C
I am trying to tune Nylon, but as you can see above there is no rule for nylon.
Any help/article will be appriciated, thanks 🙂
