Banding & bent walls on first several layers?
I'm having a banding and deformed walls issue on the first few layers using ABS. The walls are not square (bent in) and there is a clear banding problem.
I have printed these cubes without issue on my generic i3.
I think this issue is related to a sclicer problem, I am using the recommended settings in PRUSA. Belt tension is with in the limits.
Firmware version 3.2.0-555
Slicer version 1.40.1
Cura 3.4.1 prints too high above the build plate, It doesn’t look like you can adjust the Z height in Cura like you can in Slicer. Any tips?

Suggestions?
Re: Banding & bent walls on first several layers?
Hi Nick,
I dont do ABS, so have no direct input, however it's a good idea to use the latest firmware and software as issues may already have been addressed,
the developers are unlikely to go back to a previous version of firmware or software, to address a problem, as they have already moved on!
on your Cube, it looks as if your first layers are unable to shrink as they cool because they are affected by the bond surface to the PEI build plate and heat from the build plate where as higher layers can shrink more. because they are not constrained and less affected by heat from the build plate
is your printer in an enclosure?
If you don't have an enclosure, try putting a large cardboard box over the printer whilst it is printing and see if you get better results!
