Bad tablet
So I recently tried to print this but as it had writing on both sides I thought I'd be clever and use the new cut function to split it into two parts with the detailed side facing up. It worked for a while, but then I found one half on the floor and a lot of tangled filament all over the place. This is with a Prusa I3 MK3. Any thoughts? Thank you.

RE: Bad tablet
You lost adhesion... You need to tell us your sheet type, filament type, and temperatures.
Cut works really well on this object. Just make sure you print both flat sides down...
RE: Bad tablet
PLA filament, textured sheet, 215 degrees centigrade. Although I think the placement of the detailed sides was my problem as I had them both face up.
So simple sometimes, isn't it? 😉
RE: Bad tablet
Your problem is PLA on textured. Use a PEI sheet if you have one. And you don't mention bed temperature. Have first layer a bit hotter than the rest.
If all you have is textured - thoroughly scrub it with water and Dawn. Dry on the heated bed. Textured works great - if you treat it right.
For what you are doing, you want all the detail facing up. Flat surface in contact with the bed.
RE: Bad tablet
Yeah, I gave the sheet a good scrubbing with water and dish soap before putting it to work on the tablet this afternoon. I dried it with paper towels, though...do you think that makes a difference? And yeah, you're right...the extruder temperature is 215 degrees centigrade. The bed is 60 degrees centigrade. I only have a textured sheet at the moment but I'm working on that.
RE: Bad tablet
Heat bed was just to get the remainder of the water out. Fresh paper towel is the way to get the bulk of the water off.
At this point - keep your fingers well away from the print area. Some wear cotton gloves.
And be careful what IPA you use. 70% may not be oil free. I only use 99%.
I might make the first layer 70 degrees, dropping back to 60 for the rest. Just to improve adhesion.
These count as large structures (almost half the print area each), and large structures warp at the corners. Use mouse ear brims.
RE: Bad tablet
And unfortunately because your print bed surface is textured, there will be gaps (not including warping) between the sides if you try to glue them together. You'll need to use some sort of gap filling glue (i.e. not superglue), and may need to be creative on how you hide the seam.
