Aluminum PLA

I’m having a hard time getting some of this Kodama Aluminum PLA ( https://us.kodama3d.com/products/kodama-aluminum-pla-400g?variant=31906366536) to stick to the smooth sheet. I have no problems with other PLA on this sheet and have tried Live Z much lower (up to -.03). It seems to do ok on straights, but it usually pulls up the corners.

I’m using a hardened steel nozzle.

I haven’t tried any bed adhesives yet.

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience they can share?

RE: Aluminum PLA

Metal filled filaments need different profiles.  They usually need to be printed hotter as the metal content dissipates heat up the filament whereas pure plastics don't anywhere near as much.  What profile are you using to print it ?

@neophyl

A derivative of the generic PLA profile. Nozzle temp is set to 205 after printing a temp tower at 210, 200, and 190. Bed is set to 60. Retraction is at 2.0. I have not played with the speeds yet.

I have a spool of that on the shelf to test out.

RE:

Hi,

sorry for delay

i have found a Kodama PLA Aluminium i had for a long time (copper too).

Tested on my Anycubic Vyper (not yet on my Mini).

  • Buse CHT for Volcano
  • Nozzle: 220
  • Bed: 75
  • Quality: 0.15

Remix https://www.printables.com/fr/model/266568-knife-holder

Working fine (but some blobs easy to remove).

Hope it helps with delay.
