260mm size

I am just finishing my kit build and I revisited a 3d model I want to print and noticed that it is 260x140x50mm. It seems Prusa is only 250mm.

Can I get away with printing this or are these measurements a hard rule? It is less than 1/2” difference.

Thanks!

RE: 260mm size

It will not let you print anything larger than 250mm.

If the actual size of the project is not critical, you can easily scale it down about 4%, either on all three axes, or on the X only.

I've also found a few cases where I've had to split the model into pieces, print them, and assemble them with glue and/or registration pins.

Sometimes, if the design permits, you can rotate the part to fit...

Eg., you can rotate 90 degrees in X so 260x140x50mm becomes 260x50x140mm and then again 40 degrees in Z when Hey Presto! It fits.

This isn't always practical but from time to time it proves useful.

Cheerio,
