0.8mm Nozzle
Hi,
I read that it is possible without problems to print with a 0.8 mm nozzle. I would just need a little guidance in how to set up an own profile.
I need to first adjust the nozzle diameter in "Prniter Settings > Extruder". Then I set all the all the "Extrusion Width" to 0 in order to let the slicer calculate the values itself. Then I set the maximum flowrate to 10mm²/s or so to ensure all the filament gets melted. Is that all I need to do? Are there any profiles available?
Can I then print with up to 0,5mm layer hight? I read it can go up to 80% from the nozzle diameter.
Thanks for any tips.
Kind regards

RE: 0.8mm Nozzle
I've got some sample profiles hereand details on customizing your own profiles here.
Main things to adjust are:
- Nozzle size
- Extrusion widths
- Layer height
Once you get it working, you can up the Max volumetric speed under both Print and Filament Settings to increase speeds. The exact value varies by filament type.
Layer heights up to 80% of nozzle size and extrusion widths up to 120% of nozzle size work well. You can go outside that, of course, but those parameters are easy to work with.

@bobstro
Excellent tutorial, thank you!

Just one more question. Now I imported the ini file and all the original settings are gone. How do I get the slicer back to the original settings?

You can just select the different profiles at the right in the Plater tab or individually under the Print, Filament and Printer Settings tabs.
