0.05mm tree frog partial rough surface texture

I had a go at the tree frog (ready-to-go gcode that comes on the SD card) at 0.05mm layer height just to see what the printer could do.

It turned out fantastic (minor stringing) but the underside has a white-ish dullness to it that is almost like it's coated in powder (but it does not rub off).

The top of the frog (or indeed, anywhere above where the front legs join the body do not suffer from this - the underside of the chin is fine.

Picture attached - any idea what causes this? My first thought was overhang but if that was the case, the chin would have it too.

I did see another thread where someone had photographed a similar issue but it did not offer any insight, it just kinda went dormant.

Filament is AreYourShop green PLA

It's what happens at 0.05mm with overhangs. Slower or possibly hotter printing may help.

Interesting. I'm genuinely interested why it doesn't persist for the entirety of the overhang though...

I think it depends on the angle. When the angle is close to horizontal, then a good portion of the external perimeter is extruded unsupported. That changes both the shape and the speed of cooling.
