Z Axis Calibration failure after years of printing…
Short story is during Z axis calibration on MK3S the extruder goes to top like normal then smoothly moves downward to bed like normal. When counter gets to 210 it stops and fails because the extruder is still about 5-10 mm from bed so PINDA is not seeing it. PINDA is working fine.
Longer story is that we built the Lack Table Enclosure. We took the power supply off and put the new holder for bed wires on. Don’t really see how any of this would screw up the Z axis, but it’s what we were doing just prior to this weird failure. We did update the firmware and thought this might have been the problem, but we reverted it and still same problem of falling short of extruder coming down to table during Z calibration. We can manually bring extruder down to table so doesn’t seem to be motor or sticking problem.
