Z-axis calibration failure
Today an issue appeared with my printer. Whenever I try to run Z calibration, it travels all the way to the top (as it should), but always displays "Calibration failed, please check the axes and try again". I've checked everything and there's nothing loose or skewed (checked the upper rod mounts). Also tried manually bringing the carriage down so it had to travel all the way before triggering the endstops but it still fails. This is the first time such error occurred, it's been working perfectly fine for the last couple months. Upgraded the firmware from 3.3.0 to 3.3.1 but the issue persists.
Re: Z-axis calibration failure
Does the x axis end up at the top of the printer. Refusing to come down... If so. It'S probably your pinda probe wiring that is faulty.

Re: Z-axis calibration failure
Yes, it goes all the way to the top, then reports a failure and refuses to go down.
I think you're right. If I wiggle the wire bundle around a but I can see the PINDA light coming on and off. Looks like I need a replacement
Re: Z-axis calibration failure
Fixed. The PINDA wire was pinched in one place and it probably broke inside. Had to cut it and solder back together, now it's working flawlessly.
Re: Z-axis calibration failure
suggest you get a stock of flexible silicone wire and some heat shrink tubing for next time, and replace the whole cable!
