XYZ axis bumpy movement - back and forth
https://forum.prusa3d.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/video_20220926_151353.mp4
Hey fellows,
my MK3S+ number 1 has an issue with the xyz movement and it's getting worse I assume.
As you can see in attached video, the movement is bumpy and it's moving back an forth instead one straight direction.
Do you know the reason and can it be fixed (by my own)?
Thx
Markus

Hi Markus,
I edited your post, to show the video...
never seen a response like that... did you accidentally include Jumping Beans?
I would suggest that you have a chat session with prusa support? BUT... I can't find it at the moment... it used to be at the bottom right hand corner of the Prusa eShop pages. and you needed to be logged in..... I have escalated this issue to Prusa
maybe others can help at the moment
regards Joan

RE: XYZ axis bumpy movement - back and forth
Hi,
thanks Joan.
This is strange indeed. But it only affects the manual movement. The printing itself is perfect as always. Still, something has changed over time (~3000h) and I would like to know what it is.
One more thing: The black control wheel's haptic feedback has always been super soft and it's difficult to select the correct items in the control panel. I have several other and newer mk3s+ so this is why I know that the mentioned behaviour of my first printer is not common.
Thx
Markus

Joan, I forgot. What do you mean with "did you accidentally include Jumping Beans?".
I don't know the wording.
RE: XYZ axis bumpy movement - back and forth
Could it be that this is actually an issue of the knob? When you are scrolling through the menu in one direction. Does the menu also move consistently in one direction or do you also see jumps forth and bank when scrolling down?
Mk3s MMU2s, Voron 0.1, Voron 2.4
It does look like a faulty rotary encoder.

RE: XYZ axis bumpy movement - back and forth
Hi,
ok thx, so we'll meet in the chat.
Just made another video: The first printer is the one with the mentioned strange xyz manual movement behaviour. When turning the knob in one direction, the menu is moving down but than up again and so on. The second printer is fine as you can see. So when you turn the knob in one direction, the menu stops when reaching the end.
RE: XYZ axis bumpy movement - back and forth
the Jumping beans was an attempt at a joke.
it's not important, Probably lost in translation.!
good luck
Joan
