RE: X CARRIAGE UPGRADE

From what revision to which revision?

There was a major change to the X carriage on the MK3 series from R4, which I think came out on the MK3S. The earlier versions  used on the Mk3 probably must be replaced with the R4 X carriage when using R4 - R6 extruder.

RE: X CARRIAGE UPGRADE

I'm pretty sure the Mk3s already has the latest type  X - Carriage, that is, the part that holds the linear bearings and that the Extruder attaches to. There will be a revision number on the front of the Carriage, For a Prusa-printed part, I think D2 is the latest.

An original Prusa-printed X carriage for a Mk3s will be marked "C" or "D"  while a self-printed part is marked with an  "R".  Also, the number is often different.   This different numbering scheme is confusing!

I have used both an R5 and R6 extruder  on the R4 (D2?) type X carriage, which seems to be the latest revision. but you might want to check for yourself and print out the latest version before disassembling anything.
