X Axis won't home
My mk3s, after 9 days total print time has stopped doing its auto home on the Xaxis. Belt status is 277 on the x axis. X belt seems slightly looser than Y belt. When pushing the x axis by hand is is significantly harder to move it left toward home than to the right. I've flashed the latest firmware.
I took a look at the belts and pulleys and see nothing obvious that would cause this. I don't think its a lubrication issue, but I have ordered some Singer machine oil that should get here sometime tonight and i will lubricate the rods.
When moving to the left I can feel "bumps" which i assume are the magnets in the motor, the bumps are "harder" when moving to the left. Any ideas?

It should be almost smooth with only a slight granularity.
With X movement problems check for:
Debris choking the idler or drive pulleys.
Loose drive pulleys - it's easy to misalign the grub screws. Oh, and they can be installed backwards.
Badly installed idler pulley. It's possible to overtighten the nylock and crush the mount.
Incorrectly tightened belt.
Dirty smooth rods.
Obstructions in the X path, misaligned cable ties at the rear of the print head are frequent.
I doubt either of the last two are your cause but check anyway.
In the LCD menu you will find Error Stats, this may help you.

if I loosen the grub screw on the motor side, would the pully spin freely on the motor? I could rule out an issue with the motor that way?
I want to give the smooth rods a cleaning and oiling, but they don't appear dirty, They do accumulate fine hairs (rabbit) so im also worried some of those may have found their way into the bearings.
If i rule out the pulleys and motor i guess ill have to figure out how to remove and inspect the x axis bearings

As an initial option, why not lubricate the linear rods and bearings as Prusa Recommend?

Rabbit hairs? Double check for clogged bearings. @joantabb is right; if you've been rubbing the rods with hair then clean and lubricate. You should look into protecting the printer from hair and dust somehow.
Loosen the belt, loosen the grub screw and the pulley will slide out. The stepper should feel smooth to turn by hand, no grating.
The grub screw must align with the flat when you reinstall.
While the belt is loose look into the bearing housing with a torch, it should move freely with a fingertip - then look again when it's tight is it straight?

I oiled it up and it works great now. I'm really surprised how tight that got. I read before to oil it every 250 hours but I guess the pet hair soaked it up and removed the oil quicker.
I'll bump up to every 100 hours

Thanks for your replys. Really helped me figure out where and what to look for. I'll keep an eye on those grub screws

It's always good to hear of a fix - but consider moving either the printer or the rabbit.
