X Axis Motor / Belt Tension Issue
Hello,
I was having an issue with repeated X axis crashes during some prints about a year ago. I did a belt tension check and it was ~340. Unfortunately the printer was set aside at that point with no further troubleshooting until recently. I took things apart to adjust the belt, but if I loosen the belt enough to bring the the tension to ~370, it is loose enough to actively skip over teeth and sags (no tension at all). I checked the rod, bearings, belt gear alignment, everything moves easily until the belt is reattached to the motor. Then the x-axis movement feels stiff/has resistance. I haven't seen anything for motor maintenance. Is this an issue with the X stepper motor or is this something I can just let run if test prints come out without issue (I don't believe I tested other prints to confirm it wasn't an issue with the model)?

It's much more precise than the belt tension function of the printer firmware.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

RE: X Axis Motor / Belt Tension Issue
That said it was too tight, I get a bit more of a rattle (that an strum/twang like the y axis) when I try to strum it. Barely feels like any tension at all. But if I loosen the belt another tooth it literally skips teeth when it moves due to no tension. Either I am doing something completely wrong or the problem lies elsewhere... Printer has 54d 15hr print time over the past 6 years.

Because it won't let me edit post: I have also minimized the tension adjust at the motor as well.
