Why Black for the Extruder printed parts?

So I'm planning on getting a I3 MK3, and will be pre-printing the printed parts for personal color preferences. But I'm wondering what is the reason Black is needed for the extruder parts?

the laser filament sensor is a bit finicky apparently black gives it the best chance of working

why not print in your favourite colour then paint the filament sensor chamber Black?

it's not, however your color choices are very limited once you go past petg. filament sensor may be affected iirc but its an easy fix.

if you're already reprinting just forget the stock extruder and go with something better. bear, vekoj, or better yet the bondtech that just came out.

How much of a difference would the first two be to a new MK3 (with all the current updates from prusa). I assume the third is a decent upgrade since it seems to include new steppers.

It's always hard to tell. I've seen great prints independent of the chosen extruder style. The only thing you should be aware of. Once you go the custom part route, you have less people using it. So it will be harder to find some help in case something goes wrong.

nevermind all the issues with the stock parts that are the reason the remixes exist in the first place.

bear uses literally the exact same parts, what do you think is going to go wrong?

Remixes exist because more or less experienced people trying to improve certain things which they think are very important. Or at least worth to invest personal time in this. If it's beneficial for the mainstream, this changes usually find the way into the official main parts. But everyone can try any version or remix at any time and decide for himself. This is how open source should work and does work pretty good for PR.

Bear extruder: "/!\ This is an ongoing development, not even a beta version for now. Use it with care. Any feedback is very welcome
Current version: 0.6.0-alpha"

Revised MK3 extruder: "Although you can loosely use the Prusa assembly manual, please refer to the STEP Assembly with all the fasteners included to help out during assembly, some fasteners had their length changed. Any help with writing the assembly guide will be greatly appreciated....EDIT (01/09/2018): New version of the extruder. Please note changes affect all the parts, and probably none of the previous version will be directly compatible, besides maybe the X-carriage cable holder. "

As you can see this parts are work in progress and different. I'm not saying they are good or bad. You might have the same issues what you have with the original one. Maybe less, maybe different one. If you ask me for help with this modified extruder and I don't have it then I can't give you good advise.
For less experienced people and people who are buying 3D printer for the first time, I would always recommend to stay stock as long as possible. There are just more people you can ask for help.

Some people like tinkering on different things. If you have a printer that's performing at 95% and happy then that's good. If you want to spend more time and money trying to get a few more percentage points of performance then that's good too. Personally, I couldn't be bothered and have better things to do.

The best extruder for MK3 is Skelestruder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2845416
You can print in any colors you want. If you are concerned about filament sensor, you only have to print the small sensor cartridge in black. Better yet, go with indirect sensor option (which I innovated) which is 100% reliable. Look for my new hybrid option coming soon...

I have lots of users, actively support and update it. It improves print quality and is easier to use.

assuming its not his first if he's already printing the parts. If it IS then I agree and would go a step further and just advise to use the included parts...

99% of the posts on these forums are about issues which the community at large has already solved.

suggesting someone will have issues or be beyond help by having the audacity to install a belt tensioner (for example) doesn't make any sense. On the other hand there are things like Klipper or Skele which are pretty involved...
