Are you sure it's touching the top there?

Does it sounds like this?

(not my video).

If it's the case then I discovered that it's vibrations between the Z axis motors and the rest of the printer.
So I bought "Stepper Motor Dampener" & it solved it (I have MK3S), it's a bit annoying to install them.

Shopping list:
2x - Stepper Motor Dampener.
8x - M3 x 6mm screws (not included in the MK3S spare bag, all the screws there are too long).

Hi Karolis,

is the Left hand Z axis lead screw swinging around and touching the outline of the plastic recess? 
or rubbing on  the underside of the Z axis Top cap?

is it a squeaking sound?

Post a short video on YT and send the link, it will be easier to understand & troubleshoot.

BTW, if you press on the knob for 1-2sec (main screen) you can move the Z axis.

Hey,

I have some vibration noise coming from my printer lately, and I am looking for advice how to fix it. The shaft is touching the plastic part just a bit which produces quite annoying rattle. If I touch the thread with my fingers the noise stops. See the pic below:

It shouldn't be touching the plastic.  It's meant to remain unconstrained.  Maybe try loosening the bolts and then pushing the plastic up as far as it will go.  Then clamp and retighten the bolts.  Perhaps that gives you the extra hair of clearance that prevents the rubbing?

the left hand Z axis screw is touching the outline. On the right side the screw is centered in the orifice and not touching the outline, so there is no noise from the right side.

If needed I can do the video after Jan 1st, as I left the printer at work and work from home during the next week.

It doesn't look like I can move the top cap around to get the z axis screw centered. I think the problem might be at the bottom where the stepper is mounted, but I am not sure if the mount has any adjustments either.

The noise is more like r-r-r-r-r kind of rattle, but only when the extruder positioned at the bottom near the print bed.

Hi Karoulis, 
try loosening the Black POM Nut securing screws on the left hand X axis end piece, this is the part which transfers motion from the Z azis Lead screw to the X axis end piece, if the POM Nut is slightly off centre at the bottom, it can cause significant misalignment at the top of the Z lead screw

It Might be worth loosening the POM NUT Screws on both sides of the X axis, then use the LCD Control knob to Move The X axis assemble to the top of the Z axis, and auto home a couple of times, to get the POM Nuts settled properly, and then tighten the screws again
