Using MK3s+ motherboard in a SV06+

Hi,

Can I compile Prusa mk3s+ firmware and make the changes needed to use it in a Sv06+ ?

I am considering upgrading my mk3s to the 32bit board and want to use the old one in the sv06 to take advantage of prusa build?

Thanks

If your skilled enough at programming then yeah it is possible base it off of 3.11 firmware and it shouldn't be too hard

Thanks,  I have built marlin for a kingroon kp3s, and a anet a8 plus.

I am familiar with compiling.  I was thinking of moving the board, screen and the extruder.  Which would simplify some of the configuration I would think.

Down side is how expensive the 3.9 upgrade kit is to ship to Canada.

I think I could buy a p1p for the same price.

Anyway thanks.

I wonder if anyone is using a prusa Rambo board with third party hardware.

I think it would be extremely cool to have my sv06 running prusas finely tuned software.

I understand the prusa strand of firmware, used on the Rambo, has had some of the normal options removed to free up space for prusa functionality, so i expect your sovol would need to pretty much match the prusa configuration.
Inductive sensor for Z homing
4X20 character display, with jog wheel/ switch input.
Two fans, with taco output
Twin Z
Filament sensor,
100k semitec thermistors on extruder and heatbed
I Expect steps per mm could be changed if required
XYZ calibration would not work with a standard sovol heatbed, due to the lack of sense points.
Sensorless homing may need tinkering. due to the different motion setup.
if the bed volume differs, you would need to change Max X, Max Y or Max Z to match the new printer.

Good luck

Joan

Ive seen an Ender been run on prusa software if you can transfer lcd thermistor and heater then it will be a pice of cake hopefully

Yes, you can compile the Prusa MK3S+ firmware and make the necessary changes to adapt it for use in a Sv06+. Upgrading to a 32-bit board for your MK3S is a good idea, and repurposing the old board for the Sv06 is a smart move.

Just ensure you make the appropriate adjustments in the firmware to accommodate any differences between the two printers. Good luck with your upgrades!
