Unknown weak layer adhesion issue, cause by hardware ?
Hi Prusa friends,
I have a 10+ Prusa MK3S in my office, however one of the mk3s is giving weird adhesion issue. This MK3S prints part that is dimensional accurate however the layer adhesion is extremely weak. The model will crack along layer lines with minimum force applied to printed part. Attached is the preview what i was printing, it is just a test setup. The printer was from 2018, continued to upgrade to mk3s over the years. The problem occurs about 2 yrs back, had left it sitting since.
I am hoping that any expert here will give advice on how i should fix my printer.
Following is are the steps i have taken to try to fix the problem (all parts are original from Prusa store):
1. Low temp issue - replaced a new extruder assembly kit (new e3d kit+harden nozzle 0.4mm+heater+thersistor) = problem continues
*the problem started with the original extruder that came with printer, i replace the whole e3d extruder
2. Extruder motor/wiring - replaced a new extruder stepper motor and wire = problem continues
3. Ext Fan and Part Fan - Spinning and working (did not replace)
4. Einsy Motherboard - replaced a new mother board = problem continues
* I guess i have replace all potential wiring related fault, the whole extruder and motherboard brand new = problem continues
5. Bearings on extruder - replaced = problem continues
6. Other bearings - all running smoothly, can't tell if any is failing = problem continues
7. Z motor and lead screw and trapezoid nut - can't tell if it is failing, no major play or wearing
8. Printer Printing parts - no break and cracks
9. LCD screen and wiring, flashair SD - working, not sure how to test
10. gcode - i have transfer the same gcode to my other prusa, they printed fine and perfect.
11. Normal SD Card - printed the test gcode = problem continues
12. power 24v - seems to work, not sure how to test this
RE: Unknown weak layer adhesion issue, cause by hardware ?
You've done a lot, I'm not sure I can offer much. It sounds like an under extrusion problem. My thought is that you should check your extrusion rate, but it would seem like if that were the problem it would have been fixed with all the stuff you replaced.

Prusa I3 Mk2 kit upgraded to Mk2.5s, Ender3 with many mods, Prusa Mini kit with Bondtech heat break, Prusa I3 Mk3s+ kit
It sounds like a temperature/cooling issue to me.
Have you tried physially moving it? Switching with a known working printer would be best - this will detect drafts and hot/cool spots.
Cheerio,
