RE: Thermal calibration fails 3.12.2

I have a REVO on my Mk3+, with 3.12 kept getting Thermal error. Went back down to 3.11.  I keep getting this annoying message to upgrade to 3.12 on LCD and constantly crashing with the latest Slicer2.5.2.  It's totally unreliable now.  Anyone else having these issues. How do I stop that annoying upgrade msg on the LCD?

remove, or comment out, the line like below, in 'Printer settings Custom Gcode, Start Gcode'

M115 U3.12.2 ; tell printer latest fw version

Dear all,

Check this link for answers https://e3d-online.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4410028113169-Revo-Six-Prusa-MK3-MK3S-MK3S-upgrade-guide

Moreover point 34 and 35

Now you have all the hardware side of upgrade completed, congratulations!
However, before you start attempting to print it's important to make sure you are using the most up to date firmware available.
Since 3.11 a new thermal model has been implemented to increase the accuracy of the fault detection.
Due to the improved responsiveness of the temperature sensor and the decreased heatup times of the ceramic heater, the standard Prusa V6 firmware is incompatible with the Revo upgrade.

Fear not as there is a revo version that can be found in the official prusa GitHub:  https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/releases

Unzip the file you need to select 1 of the 4 options here. They are labelled to make your life easier:

MK3 40W version,
MK3S/MK3S+ 40W version

MK3 60W version
MK3S/MK3S+ 60W version

The solution is to install the REVO firmware variant!
From Prusa's Github.

RE: Thermal calibration fails 3.12.2 (Now 3.14+)

Just FYI... If you can't get Thermal Calibration to work, you can still upgrade to 3.14+ and disable calibration using a terminal connection (PuTTY etc) as outlined in this Prusa entry (at the end) https://help.prusa3d.com/article/thermal-model-calibration_382488.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

RE: Thermal calibration fails 3.12.2

Hi, a few weeks back, I bought a MK3S+ with the Revo upgrade, I just took the time to try and calibrate it, first on the FW it came with ( 3.12.2 ), then with 3.14.0 off of the Prusa website, and just now after seeing this thread, I flashed the REVO 3.14.0 off of Github, and I still get the same issue as everyone else at the thermal calibration step. Starts out, then cuts after 3 to 5 seconds.

I tried all the steps outlined in the article posted by @jc-3 before completely disabling the thermal model feature, to no avail. I guess I'll have to live without it.

RE: Thermal calibration fails 3.12.2

I have an MK3S+ with a Revo6, running on firmware 3.11 without problems. I have tried some of the newer firmware versions some time ago but the hassle was not worth it for me and I went back to version 3.11. That is the version that was recommended by E3D at the time when I bought the Revo6. If it works, it is good enough for me.

MK3S+ owners have lived without the "thermal model" for 95% of the life of the MK3S+.  You will be just fine without it.

Just as an FYI, as I started this thread.

I never got it working, I tried newer firmware with no luck and kept going back to 3.11 until I switched to a Bambu Lab X1C and never looked back.

I can't argue with that solution, but you also can upgrade your firmware, but then DEACTIVATE the thermal model.  I've explained how to easily do that several times.

RE: Thermal calibration fails 3.12.2

After Flashing around with recommended Firmware by Revo six (in the original manual on the e3d page) and several prusa firmwares causing the following problems:

- Thermal model calibration failed (print aborted error)

-PID calibration failed (nothing happens at all after the first heating to 60°C, seems to freeze)

I installed Prusa Firmware 3.11 and all my problems are gone. Now I deal with one push more per print to decline the update message but Revo six hotend now works.

RE: Thermal calibration fails 3.12.2

if you delete the M115 line from your 'Printers>Custom Gcode>Start Gcode', you won't even get the Nag message
it looks like this:-

M115 U3.14.0 ; tell printer latest fw version
You need to be in Expert mode in Prusa Slicer to edit this option!
