Thermal Anomaly problem.

Half way through a print I got a "thermal anomaly" that paused the print and shut the hot end down. I can't even get it to preheat at all now. As soon as any temp is set, I get the anomaly and it shuts down the heat. Figured it was the heat cartridge so I decided to throw in a brand new hot end since the cartridge was covered in filament and not easily removed at the moment. Still, same problem with the new one. As soon as the hot end starts to heat up, it immediately gets the error again. So to me this seems to be beyond the hotend itself. Any ideas out there? Any help appreciated. TIA

RE:

Did this problem appear right after a firmware update? If so, try downgrading the firmware again. There were reports about some firmware issues, not sure if it also affected MK3s. If it is not that, have you checked that the connecters are fully plugged in?

Do you still have the old hotend? You can test heater cartridge and thermistor with a multimeter. The heater should have something between 4 and 20 Ohm and I would assume the thermistor something around 50-100 kOhm. You can also test the new hotend if you unplug the connectors on the board and test the cables there.

No firmware upgrade lately. It's been running great for the last 2 months. I'll try testing the thermister and cartridge but I'm not hopeful, the new end was just opened from Prusa. Thanks for the reply, I'll update later.
