Testing Extruder Motor...?

Greetings -

I'm (still) troubleshooting a clicking in the extruder/idler gear area and was wondering if it is possible to test the extruder stepper motor, with no filament loaded, to see if it is having problems.  Basically would just like to get the extruder motor to spin to check if it is missing steps, etc.

I've taken the extruder apart (several times), cleaned everything, verified nothing is clogged, etc.  Using PLA on stock settings and have printed a couple hundred hours worth of stuff in the past.

Here's a link to what I'm seeing:

RE: Testing Extruder Motor...?

You can use the lcd to control all the steppers, moving x/y/z etc but you can do the same by commanding it to extrude Xmm of material.  The only point to note is that the extruder must be above a minimum temp before it will let you extrude so you will need to set the temp first (which can also be done through the lcd).
