Not to put a damper on this, but after much fussing with this early on, I realized that raising the nozzle a bit during final nozzle heat up and putting a swipe of glue stick along the prime line area was more than sufficient to avoid any damage to the PEI surface during prolonged use. It was an interesting exercise, and I certainly learned a lot about the limits of PrusaSlicer's conditional code, but ultimately, the position of the removable sheet on the bed isn't all that precise and avoiding doing things that can damage it takes care of the problem.

How would this damage it?  All this is doing is moving the purge line to the right, in the same unused-area that the original purge line is in.

And I would much rather have this be something automatically done by the slicer, than having to mess with glue stick each time.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. The whole purpose of moving the prime line position in the first place is to reduce wear (damage). I'm saying that raising the nozzle in start gcode is more effective. It avoids damage rather than moving it around. The glue stick just helps if the Live-Z is low (which is still an issue if you just move the prime line) and only needs to be applied after the bed is washed, so maybe monthly. I'd use it even if moving the prime line.

Nothing wrong with tweaking your prime line to make art if you want, but I realized I was geeking out over it and went a simpler route to accomplish the goal of reducing PEI wear.

After using the code to move (and also raise) the prime line for many months on many printers, I haven't had a single bed sheet that broke out the PEI/coating in the prime line area.

I'm very happy with, and recommend, this mod.

Absolutely. If you're raising the nozzle for final heating, you will avoid damaging the PEI.
