Sudden Y-Axis shifting

I’ve had the printer for a couple months. I haven’t used the printer in a couple weeks but it was working fine.

I printed the Prusa sliced file of the dog for the picture below.

I checked the gear on the motor, the idler connection to plate and pulley and everything is moving smoothly.

I did try everything in the troubleshooting guide.

Re: Sudden Y-Axis shifting

The dog looks like the belts are slipping over the gears; or the gears are spinning on the shafts. But if you can print the contained gear as shown but the dog is coming out shifted like that, then I'd suspect a bad gcode file for the dog and try reslicing it.

Looking at the dog print more closely - I'd say it is a very bad slice; the infill is nothing I've seen before and looks broken. I'd definitely start with reslicing the dog.

A secondary issue looks to be under-extrusion: low temps or a partial nozzle jam; a cold pull may also help improve surface quality of the gear.
