Slicer Creates Walls
Hi,
The slicer seems to be creating walls in a model where they are not present, and the orientation of the model is affecting this. When the model is vertical, it creates two walls, complete with infill. When I make the model horizontal, it does not create these walls. I would like to print the model in the vertical position without these additional walls.
Thanks in advance!

It might help if you upload a 3MF or another file with your slicer settings.

Most likely cause is a damaged model such that the slicer can’t interpret the geometry correctly. Do as CW says and save your project , take the 3mf file, zip it up and attach it. Must be zipped or the forum doesn’t accept the file.

Here's the file. Thanks again for taking a look at this.Problematic Model
RE: Slicer Creates Walls
Did you not notice the orange triangle next to the model in the tree ? With 864 Open edges listed when you hover over it. Those triangles are there to warn you about model issues.
Fixing it through netfabb helps a lot but there's still some very thin walls in the small holes in some of them. Should be easy to punch out after printing though as they are one perimeter thick when I sliced it.
In case you aren't on windows and don't have access to the fix through netfabb option I have attached the fixed file.

I found https://formware.co/OnlineStlRepair to do a very good job.

RE:
My slicer shows no error triangles on this model... I've seen them before, but not on this model, and the option to fix on netfabb is grayed out.
The fixed model seems to be working properly, thank you!
